E-Sports : CLG Seek Resurgence Versus Immortals

They won the Summer Split of the 2015 North American League of Legends Championship Series. Then they won the 2016 Spring Split. But Counter Logic Gaming find themselves seventh out of 10 teams in this year's Summer standings. They'll try to re-discover their form Friday night (8 PM ET) when they face second-place Immortals. It won't be easy; at press time, CLG are +250 underdogs, with Immortals favored heavily at –400.

The defending champs enter Week 4 of the Summer Split with just two wins in six attempts. CLG split their two matches in Week 3, beating the weak Echo Fox team 2-0, then losing 2-1 to surprisingly strong Team EnVyUs. Immortals have only one loss in their six matches; they're coming off a pair of 2-0 victories over Envy and Fox.

The last time these two teams met was during the Spring Split. CLG finished second on the regular-season table at 13-5, but they also handed Immortals (17-1) their only loss, beating them in Week 7. It's possible CLG are undervalued going into Week 4, having just recently returned to the “split-push” style that served them so well this spring.

CLG Seek Resurgence Versus Immortals

E-Sports Odds: CLG-Immortals in LoL Slugfest
Counter Logic Gaming (2-4) have had a rough start to the Summer Split of the 2016 North American League of Legends Championship Series. But the defending champs can get back on track this Friday at 8 PM ET with a win over Immortals (6-1).

CLG handed Immortals their only loss during the Spring Split, but at press time, it's Immortals favored at –400, with CLG trailing at +250. There could be some betting value with the underdogs; they crushed Echo Fox last week after reverting to their successful “split-push” style from the spring session.
