MLB Odds - Indians Face Off with Red Sox in Boston

A pair of World Series contenders headline Tuesday’s MLB schedule. The Boston Red Sox will host the Cleveland Indians in the middle of a three-game set.

The Indians will send out Carlos Carrasco (10-4, 3.58 ERA), who took a no-decision in a 10-4 home victory over the Los Angeles Angels in his last start. Carrasco allowed a pair of runs on six hits over 6.1 innings while striking out five. The 30-year-old righthander is 1-1 with an ERA of 4.66 in five appearances (three starts) against the Red Sox in his career and in 2017. Carrasco is 7-2 in 11 road starts with an ERA of 2.87.

The Red Sox will go with Doug Fister (0-5, 7.46 ERA), who took a relief loss in his latest outing as Boston fell 6-5 in Seattle. He gave up two runs on three hits in 2.2 innings, striking out three and walking two. The 33-year-old righty is 5-4 in 16 career starts against Cleveland with an ERA of 3.13. At home this season, Fister is 0-3 in three games (two starts) with an ERA of 8.31.

The Indians are 6-4 in their last 10 against the Red Sox, including a three-game sweep in last year’s ALDS. Six games have gone under, with a push.

MLB Odds: Red Sox Out for Revenge Against Indians

The Cleveland Indians made short work of the Boston Red Sox in last year’s ALDS, sweeping them in three games. The Red Sox would like to exact a little revenge on the Indians when they meet on Tuesday in the second of a three-game series in Boston.

The Red Sox have to go to Doug Fister (0-5, 7.46 ERA) due to injuries, but Fister is 5-4 in 16 career starts against Cleveland, with an ERA of 3.13. The Indians will likely respond with Carlos Carrasco (10-4, 3.58 ERA), who has been excellent on the road this season with a 7-2 mark in 11 starts, along with an ERA of 2.87.

MLB Odds: Stroman, Jays Visit the South Side

This has been a rough year for the Toronto Blue Jays (49-56, –16.16 betting units), but they won five of seven games last week, and they can keep up the momentum with a strong showing in their three-game series against the tanking Chicago White Sox (40-62, –8.06 units). Game 2 from New Comiskey goes Tuesday night at 8:10 PM ET on both Sportsnet and WGN.

Toronto should have the edge in pitching with Marcus Stroman (3.85 FIP) on the hill. The Jays are 13-8 behind their ace for 1.18 units in profit; Stroman has allowed a total of seven earned runs in his last six starts. However, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (.678 OPS) suffered ligament damage in his right ankle Friday night and could miss the rest of the regular season.

Veteran northpaw Mike Pelfrey (5.50 FIP) is penciled in to take the mound for Chicago. Despite a low .269 BABIP, Pelfrey is 2.97 units in the red on a team record of 6-11, tasting defeat in each of his last five appearances. Current Jays have a combined .786 lifetime OPS versus Pelfrey, including a 1.132 OPS from recently acquired catcher Miguel Montero, who’s 7-for-16 with four doubles.

MLB Odds: Jays-White Sox on the South Side

The Toronto Blue Jays (49-56, –16.16 betting units) can claw their way back into the AL Wild Card hunt with a strong series against the tanking Chicago White Sox (40-62, –8.06 units). Game 2 of their three-game set is Tuesday at 8:10 PM ET on Sportsnet and WGN.

Marcus Stroman (3.85 FIP) is expected to start for Toronto opposite Mike Pelfrey (5.50 FIP). Stroman has allowed just seven earned runs in his last six starts combined, while Chicago has lost each of Pelfrey’s last five games, including a difficult relief appearance in Denver (three earned runs in 0.1 innings).

Politics Odds: Who Will Leave Trump First?

These are not good times for the Trump Administration. The schism between Donald Trump and the Republicans in both the House and Senate is growing wider every day. Who will be the first key figure in Trump’s inner circle to abandon ship? Odds have been listed for four major candidates; Reince Priebus is the –150 favorite at press time, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions is right behind him at +135.

Trump has been openly critical of Sessions lately, tweeting his unhappiness about Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the ongoing investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election. But Sessions has refused to step down from his post, telling reporters last Thursday that he’d remain as Attorney General “as long as that is appropriate.”

White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (+550) are next on the odds list, followed by Vice President Mike Pence at +2500. Pence has more incentive to stick around than the other three, since he’s next in line to become President if and when Trump is removed from office. Reports on Monday had Tillerson thinking about quitting his job “well before” the end of the year; Sessions is also –150 to leave his job before 2018 rolls around.

Live odds and lines

Politics Odds: Will Sessions Leave Trump Behind?

Jeff Sessions is still the US Attorney General at press time, but he might not be for long. You can bet on whether Sessions will be at his post on January 1, 2018; No is the –150 favorite, while Yes is priced at +110.

Sessions is also the +135 second-favorite in a four-horse race to see who will leave the Trump Administration first. White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus (–150) and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (+550) are also on the odds list, while Vice President Mike Pence is understandably a long shot at +2500.

MLB Odds: Will Gray Pitch for A’s Versus Jays?

The Toronto Blue Jays (44-54, –18.55 betting units) know they’ll be hosting the Oakland Athletics (44-54, –7.27 units) this Tuesday night. But who will pitch for the A’s? Sonny Gray is penciled in to start for Oakland, but he’s been the subject of trade rumors heading towards the July 31 deadline.

If Gray (3.38 FIP) does take the hill at Rogers Centre, the Jays could be in for another long night. Oakland’s ace has allowed just six earned runs in his last five starts combined, and the A’s won four of those games to improve to 8-7 (+0.35 units) in Gray’s 15 starts on the season. The former All-Star has also limited current Toronto bats to a .673 lifetime OPS, although Jose Bautista is 5-of-12 against Gray with a homer and a fat 1.051 OPS.

With the Jays in freefall and the roster riddled with injuries, reliever Cesar Valdez (6.31 FIP in 19.1 innings) is expected to throw the first pitch at 7:07 PM ET on Sportsnet. Valdez is a 32-year-old righty who’s bounced around the minors since turning pro in 2006; this is his second stint with the Jays organization, after Oakland designated him for assignment in early May.

MLB Odds: A’s-Jays in Battle of Last-Place Teams

It’s turning into a long season for the Toronto Blue Jays (44-54, –18.55 betting units), and it could get even longer Tuesday night when the Oakland Athletics (44-54, –7.27 units) come to town for Game 2 of a four-game series. Sportsnet has the coverage starting at 7:07 PM ET.

Assuming he isn’t traded by then, Sonny Gray (3.38 FIP) is penciled in to start for Oakland, while the Jays are expected to give reliever Cesar Valdez (6.31 FIP in 19.1 innings) the nod. Valdez was picked up off the waiver wire in May after Oakland designated him for assignment.

MLB Odds: Visiting Brewers Travel to Washington

The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the biggest surprises of the season so far. With a 53-48 straight up record, they’re sitting second in the National League Central. On Tuesday, they’ll head to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Nationals, one of the World Series favorites. This will be the second of a four-game series.

The Brewers will go with Zach Davies (11-4, 4.76), who took a no-decision in a 3-2 loss at Pittsburgh in his last outing. Davies went seven innings, allowing a run on eight hits with four strikeouts and a walk. This will be his first time facing the Nationals. He’s 5-0 in 10 road starts with a 3.18 ERA.

The Nationals counter with Gio Gonzalez (8-5, 2.83), who lost his last outing by a 7-0 score on the road against the Los Angeles Angels. Gonzalez gave up four runs on five hits over 5.2 innings, striking out three and walking three. Gonzalez is 2-3 in seven starts against the Brewers with an ERA of 4.95. He’s also 1-2 in nine home starts with a 1.95 ERA.

Going into their first meeting of the season, the two had split their last 10 games. Five games have gone over the posted total, with a push.

MLB Odds: Nationals Host Brewers on Tuesday

Tuesday’s marquee MLB matchup comes from the nation’s capital. The Washington Nationals have been running away with the National League East while the Milwaukee Brewers have been a pleasant surprise in the Central.

This game could be all about run support for the pitchers. The Brewers will put out Zach Davies (11-4, 4.76), who is third in the majors in run support, with his offense scoring 5.95 runs when he starts. The Nationals counter with Gio Gonzalez (8-5, 2.83), who is 34th in the majors with 4.80 runs. That could be the difference when the two meet on Tuesday.

Golf Odds: Free-For-All at 2017 British Open

The 2017 Open Championship, aka the British Open, begins Thursday at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. This major has produced nine different winners over the past nine years, and the odds board for this year’s tournament promises another highly competitive contest. Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler are +1400 co-favorites at press time; Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm are close behind at +1600, followed by Sergio Garcia at +1800.

Because the Open is regularly held on links-style courses, golfers with European Tour experience tend to outperform their PGA Tour brethren. Spieth tied for fourth at this event during his magical 2015 season, but has struggled to recapture that glory. Fowler has likewise failed to live up to his breakthrough 2014 campaign, although he is coming off a fifth-place tie at the US Open.

Johnson remains No. 1 on the World Golf Ranking, but his game has been off since he hurt his back just before the Masters in April. With all this chaos, a proven winner like 2010 Open champ Louis Oosthuizen (+5000) may be worth a look further down the odds list; Oosthuizen also finished tied for second in 2015 after losing the playoff to Zach Johnson (+8000).

Live odds and lines

Golf Odds: No Clear Favorite at 2017 British Open

Just about anyone can win the British Open, and this year’s odds list is tightly packed with Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler tied as +1400 co-favorites, just ahead of Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm at +1600. Sergio Garcia is close behind at +1800. Action begins Thursday at Royal Birkdale.

Johnson is still the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, but he’s struggled ever since hurting his back just before the Masters; Spieth and Fowler have seen better days, as well. There should be some betting value in this field with proven Open commodities like 2010 champion Louis Oosthuizen at +5000.

2017 Super Millions Poker Open Underway

The 2017 Super Millions Poker Open is off to a running start at Bodog Poker. The first events on the 105-tournament schedule have already been completed; there are three more tourneys on Thursday’s schedule, with a total of $34,000 in guaranteed prize money waiting to be won.

Play the 2017 Super Millions Poker Open at Bodog Poker.

Thursday’s action kicks off at 8:03 PM ET with Event #18, the $20,000 Gtd Super Stack, where players start with 5,000 chips in their stacks. Event #19, the $10,000 Gtd at 9:03 PM, starts even deeper at 10,000 chips. No-limit Texas Hold’em is the name of the game for both tournaments. As a general rule, if you’re going to go all-in with a big stack, make sure you’re drawing to the nuts if you don’t already have the best hand.

The night wraps up with a very special tournament: the only fixed-limit Omaha Hi/Lo event on the SMPO schedule. Event #20 at 10:03 PM ET is a $4,000 Gtd Turbo with starting stacks once again set at 10,000 chips. Fixed-limit is the classic betting structure for Omaha Hi/Lo; the Turbo format will keep the action rolling as the blinds go up and more of those giant stacks get pushed into the middle.

2017 Super Millions: Two Cards or Four?

The 2017 Super Millions Poker Open is already underway at Bodog Poker, and the action continues Thursday with three tournaments paying a combined $34,000 in guaranteed prize money. The first two events at 8:03 PM and 9:03 PM ET are no-limit Hold’em, followed by this year’s only fixed-limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament at 10:03 PM.

Play the 2017 Super Millions Poker Open at Bodog Poker.
By the time the 2017 SMPO wraps up in August, at least $2.5 million guaranteed will have been won, so don’t miss out; buy in directly or win your seat through one of the many qualifiers running all week long at Bodog Poker.

MLB Odds: Cubs Carry Momentum into Series with Braves

The Chicago Cubs came out of the All-Star Break with momentum, sweeping their weekend series with the Baltimore Orioles, while scoring 27 runs in the process. They’ll look to keep that momentum going in Atlanta on Tuesday.

The Cubs face the Braves at 7:35 PM ET in a matchup between John Lackey and Sean Newcomb. Lackey has struggled this season, with home runs being the main issue. He’s allowed at least one home run in 14 of his 17 starts and given up 24 home runs in 98.2 innings of work. Last season, he allowed just 23 in 188.1 innings pitched. Ricky Nolasco is the only pitcher in the majors to have allowed more dingers this season.

Lackey will face Newcomb, the Braves’ rookie starter who has had some challenges of his own. The Braves have dropped four of Newcomb’s six starts. After an impressive month of June where he posted a 1.48 ERA, Newcomb has given up 11 earned runs in just 7.1 innings of work in his last two outings.
Coming into this series, the Cubs are 7-3 in their last 10 against the Braves, with seven going over the posted total. Offense could be the theme once again if the pitchers on both sides continue to struggle.

Live odds and lines

MLB Odds: Lackey Leads Cubs into Atlanta

The Chicago Cubs will look to pick up a win in Atlanta on Tuesday evening when they send John Lackey to the mound. He has had enjoyed success against the Braves in recent outings.

Lackey has made three starts against the Braves over the last three seasons. He’s lasted 18.1 innings in those outings while posting a 2.45 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP, holding the Braves to a .239 batting average. Lackey has struggled this season, though. The key for him has been home runs. The Cubs are 3-0 when he doesn’t give up a home run, but are 6-9 otherwise.

MLB Odds: Jays Need Stronger Pitching in Beantown

It looked like the Toronto Blue Jays would vault back into the American League East race after getting all their injured players back in the lineup. Instead, their vaunted pitching staff has taken a tumble, and the Jays (42-48, –14.20 betting units) are fighting to stay out of the basement. They’ll visit the first-place Boston Red Sox Tuesday night at 7:10 PM ET on Sportsnet and NESN.

JA Happ (4.42 FIP) is one of those unlucky pitchers for the Blue Jays. They’re just 4-7 in his 11 starts for a loss of 4.48 units; Happ has played well since missing six weeks this spring with inflammation in his throwing elbow, but Toronto has spoiled that good work by dropping three of his last four appearances, despite Happ allowing only five earned runs in 23 innings.

The Red Sox were expected to send Doug Fister (5.91 FIP) to the mound Tuesday, but Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports that Fister will not make that start, after his services were required during Saturday’s bizarre 16-inning loss to the New York Yankees. Fister pitched 2.2 innings of relief and took the loss after giving up three runs in the final frame.

Live odds and lines

MLB Odds: Happ Looking for Help in Boston

JA Happ (4.42 FIP) has pitched reasonably well for the Toronto Blue Jays this year, but he hasn’t been getting much help; the Jays have lost three of Happ’s last four starts, and they’ll be in tough this Tuesday (7:10 PM ET, SNET) when they visit the first-place team in the American League East, the Boston Red Sox.

Happ’s most recent start was Toronto’s last game before the All-Star break, a disheartening 19-1 loss to the Houston Astros. Happ gave up two earned runs, but was tagged for the loss after the Jays (42-48, –14.20 betting units) committed three errors.

Jonathan B. Collects $119,348 From Bovada Casino’s Caribbean Hold’Em
A progressive jackpot strikes again! This time it was at Bovada Casino, where a Texas player landed the top hand playing Caribbean Hold’Em over the weekend. A grand total of $119,348 was collected from the poker-inspired table game.

After putting $25 on the Ante, Jonathan B. was dealt Ad10D. He liked his odds and subsequently raised $50. What happened next is the stuff dreams are made of. The flop came in with KdJdQd, giving Jonathan a Royal flush. There were still two more cards to be dealt, but it didn’t even matter. The dealer qualified, but couldn’t compete with Jonathan’s hand, so a 100-1 payout was sent Jonathan’s way.

A 100-1 payout on $75 is $7,500, but Jonathan collected far more than that thanks to a side bet. Before the start of the round, Jonathan placed $1 on the Progressive Jackpot bet, which pays players for landing a flush and up. Jonathan’s Royal flush got him the whole pot – a whopping $111,848. Now that’s how you play Caribbean Hold’Em.

Entertainment Odds: American Century Championship

Mark Mulder was one of the best pitchers in baseball during the early Aughts. Turns out he’s pretty good at golf, too. Mulder is the two-time and reigning titleholder at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, and he’s the +400 favorite to make it three in a row starting this Friday. Tony Romo (+425) and Mardy Fish (+550) are the other top contenders.

It’s very rare for a non-athlete to win this three-round tournament; soap opera star Jack Wagner (+1400) is the only one to accomplish this feat since the inaugural event in 1990, and he did it twice, in 2006 and 2011. That’s bad news for Justin Timberlake (+6600), a 4-handicap golfer who will play Lake Tahoe for the third straight year. Romo and Fish have yet to win the Classic, but Romo is a 0-handicapper who has plenty of time for golf now that he’s no longer the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. So does Fish, who retired from the men’s tennis circuit in 2015; he was an avid golfer growing up, and he won the Celebrity division at last year’s Diamond Resorts Invitational – before finishing second behind Mulder this year.

Entertainment Odds: Mulder Goes for Three

Former All-Star pitcher Mark Mulder has been tearing up the celebrity golf scene since officially retiring in 2010. This Friday, he’ll defend his crown at the leading tournament on the celeb circuit, the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe. Mulder is +400 to win, followed by Tony Romo at +425 and Mardy Fish at +550.

Like Mulder, Romo plays to a 0-handicap. The former Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback is making his return to Lake Tahoe after back trouble caused him to sit out the previous four years. Romo finished second in three straight tournaments between 2009 and 2011.

MLB Odds – Can the National League Stop the American League Winning Streak?

The 88th MLB All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday in Miami. The rules have changed and now the winning league won’t get home-field advantage in the World Series. Even so, the National League will still be trying to stop a four-year losing streak to the American League.

The American League will have 18 first-time All-Stars, led by Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners leads the AL with eight All-Star appearances. For the nod of starting pitcher, Cleveland manager Brad Mills could go with Chris Sale of the Boston Red Sox. Sale is 11-4 with a 2.75 ERA, leading the AL in innings and strikeouts. The National League has 10 first-time All-Stars while the Washington Nationals’ Ryan Zimmerman, Daniel Murphy and Bryce Harper are all starters.

Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals has eight All-Star appearances to lead all NL players. Joe Maddon of the Chicago Cubs would like to start Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers, but Kershaw started on Sunday, so that’s a quick turnaround. Maddon could go with Washington’s Max Scherzer, who is 10-5 with a 2.10 ERA. Scherzer leads the NL in innings pitched, strikeouts and ERA.
The NL has won just three times and tied once with the AL since 1997.

MLB Odds: Miami, National League Host 88th All-Star Game

Miami hosts the All-Star Game for the first time on Tuesday. The American League will go for their fifth straight win over the National League.

The American League won 4-2 last year in San Diego, which helped the Chicago Cubs in the World Series against the Cleveland Indians because it gave them home-field advantage in the critical Game 7. However, this will be the first year since 2002 in which the winning league doesn’t get home-field for winning the All-Star Game. The managers will be Brad Mills of Cleveland, who is filling in for Terry Francona (surgery) and Joe Maddon of the Cubs.

MLB Odds: Jays Start Second Half in Motown

The Toronto Blue Jays (41-47, –14.29 betting units) could use a break. They ended the unofficial first half of the regular season Sunday afternoon with an embarrassing 19-1 loss at home to the top team in the American League, the Houston Astros (–125). After pausing for the All-Star Game, the Jays return to action Friday night with a road tilt against the Detroit Tigers; first pitch is at 7:10 PM ET on Sportsnet.

Aaron Sanchez (6.38 FIP) has already been penciled in to start for Toronto. Sanchez was one of the best pitchers on the junior circuit last year, but blisters and a split fingernail have limited his effectiveness this season and sent him to the DL on three separate occasions. In his most recent return, Sanchez was rocked by the Astros for five earned runs Friday night in just 1.2 innings of work.

Maybe Sanchez can get his groove back against the Tigers, who had yet to announce a starter at press time for Friday’s contest. The Tigers enter the All-Star break at the bottom of the AL Central standings, and current Detroit hitters have a combined .513 lifetime OPS versus Sanchez at 10-for-52 with zero home runs.

MLB Odds: Sanchez Gets Another Crack in Detroit

Aaron Sanchez (6.38 FIP) and the 41-47 Toronto Blue Jays have had their struggles this year, but they can start the second half of the regular season with a bang when they visit the Detroit Tigers Friday night. Game time is 7:10 PM ET on Sportsnet.

The Tigers head into the All-Star break in the American League Central basement, and Sanchez has limited current Detroit batters to a .513 lifetime OPS. However, Sanchez has been bothered by blisters on his throwing hand, limiting him to just six starts thus far; Toronto went 2-4 (–2.44 betting units) in those starts.

Soccer Odds: Mexico, USA Top Gold Cup Futures

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (or CONCACAF, for short) will crown a new champion this month at the Gold Cup. Mexico won the Cup when this tournament was last held in 2015, and they’re +120 favorites to defend that title at press time, just ahead of the United States at +140. Costa Rica are third on the list at +700.

There aren’t any true soccer powerhouses in the CONCACAF region, but Mexico is pretty close at No. 11 on the World Elo Football Ratings and No. 17 on the FIFA rankings. Team USA is No. 25 in Elo and No. 22 according to FIFA; these two teams have a win, a loss and two draws over their past four matches against each other, including a 1-1 draw last month in Mexico City.
Costa Rica (No. 29 Elo, No. 19 FIFA) could play spoiler when the Gold Cup kicks off Friday in New Jersey – the US being the host country. There are 12 teams in this tournament, and of the three groups involved, Costa Rica faces the softest competition in Group A. They’ll play Honduras (+2000), Canada (+3300) and French Guiana (+15000) in the Group Stage.

Soccer Odds: 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup

Two years after their controversial win at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Mexico are the +120 favorites to defend their title when this biennial tournament kicks off Friday night at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. The hosts from Team USA are a close second at +140; Costa Rica trail in third at +700.

According to the FIFA rankings, there isn’t much difference among these three teams, but the World Elo Football Ratings tell a different story. They have Mexico at No. 11 in the world, followed by the States at No. 25 and Costa Rica at No. 29.

MLB Odds: Jays, Yanks in Midseason Funk

The Toronto Blue Jays (37-44, –16.17 betting units) have lost eight of their last 10 games, falling back into last place in the American League East. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees (43-37, –3.68 units) were on top of the division standings before going into a 5-14 tailspin. They’ll try to sort things out Wednesday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium; first pitch is at 1:05 PM ET on Rogers Sportsnet and the MLB Network.

The Jays are expected to send Marco Estrada (4.10 FIP) to the mound Wednesday. He’s pitching about as well as he did last year (4.15 FIP), but with his BABIP rising from .234 to .327, Estrada has led Toronto to 3.92 units in losses on a team record of 7-10, including 1-5 in his last six appearances.
Michael Pineda (4.26 FIP) is up for New York, and he doesn’t look nearly as good as in years past, but the Yankees are still 0.50 units in the black after winning 10 of Pineda’s 16 starts. Giving him 6.94 runs of support per game helps; the over is 12-4 behind Pineda this season, and a tasty 7-2 in the Bronx.

MLB Odds: Jays-Yankees in the Big Apple

Two struggling AL East teams will meet this Wednesday (1:05 PM ET, SNET) when the Toronto Blue Jays visit the New York Yankees. The Blue Jays (37-44, –16.17 betting units) have lost eight of their last 10, while the Yankees (43-37, –3.68 units) are 5-14 since the middle of June.

Marco Estrada (4.10 FIP) is expected to pitch for Toronto opposite Michael Pineda (4.26 FIP). The Jays have lost five of Estrada’s last six starts; New York is 2-4 behind Pineda during the same span, driving the over to the pay window every time.

MLB Odds - Yankees Host Blue Jays in AL East Clash

The American League East is tight from top to bottom. The spotlight is there on Wednesday, with the New York Yankees hosting the Toronto Blue Jays in the finale of a three-game set.

Toronto is expected to start Marco Estrada (4-6, 4.86 ERA), who lasted 4.1 innings in a 4-7 loss to the Boston Red Sox in his latest outing. He allowed two runs on two hits with three strikeouts, but Estrada walked seven in 94 pitches. Estrada is 4-3 in 12 games (11 starts) against the Yankees with a 4.21 ERA, including a 1-1 record in two starts this season with a 6.75 ERA.

Michael Pineda (8-4, 4.05 ERA), meanwhile, took the win for the Yankees in a 13-4 victory in Houston in his latest start, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits over six innings, striking out three and walking none. Pineda has a 2-4 mark in three starts against the Blue Jays with a 3.52 ERA. In his lone start against Toronto this year, he was knocked for five runs on 10 hits over five innings in a loss.

Coming into this series, the two teams had split their last 10 meetings, with six going over the total. This includes a four-game set in Toronto last month, in which both teams won twice, and two contests went over the total.

MLB Odds: Estrada, Pineda Meet in New York

Wednesday’s MLB schedule kicks off in the Big Apple. The New York Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays in the final matchup of their three-game set.

Toronto’s Marco Estrada (4-6, 4.86 ERA) is looking to put a miserable June behind him. He was 0-4 with a 9.11 ERA last month. The Jays will nonetheless send him to the hill in New York. The Yankees’ Michael Pineda (8-4, 4.05 ERA) was slightly better in June, going 2-2 with a 5.35 ERA. Pineda’s home/away splits show that he’s better at home (6-2 in nine starts, 2.91 ERA), so that’s a good sign for New York. Estrada is 2-4 in nine road starts with a 4.83 ERA.
