MLB Odds - Yankees Host Blue Jays in AL East Clash

The American League East is tight from top to bottom. The spotlight is there on Wednesday, with the New York Yankees hosting the Toronto Blue Jays in the finale of a three-game set.

Toronto is expected to start Marco Estrada (4-6, 4.86 ERA), who lasted 4.1 innings in a 4-7 loss to the Boston Red Sox in his latest outing. He allowed two runs on two hits with three strikeouts, but Estrada walked seven in 94 pitches. Estrada is 4-3 in 12 games (11 starts) against the Yankees with a 4.21 ERA, including a 1-1 record in two starts this season with a 6.75 ERA.

Michael Pineda (8-4, 4.05 ERA), meanwhile, took the win for the Yankees in a 13-4 victory in Houston in his latest start, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits over six innings, striking out three and walking none. Pineda has a 2-4 mark in three starts against the Blue Jays with a 3.52 ERA. In his lone start against Toronto this year, he was knocked for five runs on 10 hits over five innings in a loss.

Coming into this series, the two teams had split their last 10 meetings, with six going over the total. This includes a four-game set in Toronto last month, in which both teams won twice, and two contests went over the total.

MLB Odds: Estrada, Pineda Meet in New York

Wednesday’s MLB schedule kicks off in the Big Apple. The New York Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays in the final matchup of their three-game set.

Toronto’s Marco Estrada (4-6, 4.86 ERA) is looking to put a miserable June behind him. He was 0-4 with a 9.11 ERA last month. The Jays will nonetheless send him to the hill in New York. The Yankees’ Michael Pineda (8-4, 4.05 ERA) was slightly better in June, going 2-2 with a 5.35 ERA. Pineda’s home/away splits show that he’s better at home (6-2 in nine starts, 2.91 ERA), so that’s a good sign for New York. Estrada is 2-4 in nine road starts with a 4.83 ERA.
