The Vikings defeated Green Bay 17-14 on Sunday night in their first game in the new US Bank Stadium. Sam Bradford played well in his Minnesota debut, throwing for 286 yards and two touchdowns. However, Adrian Peterson will join Teddy Bridgewater on the sidelines with a knee injury. Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata will split the carries in Peterson's absence.
The Panthers are now 1-1 after a 46-27 win over San Francisco; Cam Newton had a huge game with 353 yards and four touchdowns. While they did bounce back from a Week 1 loss in Denver, the Panthers had four turnovers on the day and the defending NFC champions still have some improving to do on both sides of the ball.
Interestingly enough, while the Vikings are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 as an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points, they’re just 1-9 straight up in those contests. Minnesota is 3-2 against the Panthers in their last five meetings – the last of which came in November 2014 when Minnesota won 31-13 at home.
NFL Odds: Panthers, Vikings Headline NFL Week 3
Week 3 in the NFL is upon us and the anchor game features a pair of NFC contenders as the defending champion Carolina Panthers host the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings are the 2-0 team here after beating Green Bay, but Adrian Peterson suffered a knee injury, so Minnesota has to replace their star running back. The Panthers are 1-1 after beating San Francisco, but the defending NFC champs have been sloppy. The Vikings have won three of their last five against the Panthers, most recently in November 2014.
