E-Sports : StarCraft II World Championship Series

E-Sports Odds: “Dark” Rising at StarCraft II WCS
The StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Playoffs have reached the Elite Eight. The Global Finals kick off this Friday, and the prohibitive favorite has to like his odds. Park “Dark” Ryung Woo is the only South Korean in the top half of the bracket; at press time, Park is available at -225 for Friday's matchup (5:30 PM ET) with New York native Alex “Neeblet” Sunderhaft available at +150.

The bottom of the bracket features four South Korean players, and there's a potential upset brewing in the all-Terran match between Byun “ByuN” Hyun Woo and Jun “TY” Tae Yang (–160), starting at 7 PM ET. Byun is the reigning Global StarCraft II League Season 2 champion, downing the very tough Kim “sOs” Yoo Jin 4-1 to take home the top prize of ₩40,000,000, or about $36,000 in US dollars.

The Season I champion is also in the mix. Joo “Zest” Sung Wook (+110) may have some betting value of his own when he faces fellow Protoss star Kim “Stats” Dae Yeob at 8 PM ET; Joo has been absent from the GSL since breaking through in 2014, but he's a master of the psychological game with plenty of experience under his belt.

E-Sports Odds: “Dark” Favored in StarCraft II WCS Quarterfinals

As the only South Korean player on his side of the bracket, Park “Dark” Ryung Woo has to like his chances going into Friday's quarterfinals at the StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Playoffs. Park (–225) will face New York's Alex “Neeblet” Sunderhaft at 5:30 PM ET.

All four players in the other half of the bracket are from South Korea, including a pair of Global StarCraft II League champions who could have value at even money in their respective quarterfinal matchups: Joo “Zest” Sung Wook (Season 1) and Byun “ByuN” Hyun Woo (Season 2).
