It'll be Marco Estrada (3.98 FIP) getting the nod for Toronto on Wednesday. Estrada has pitched quite well, delivering 11 quality starts in his last 12 games, but the Jays (59-47, –1.91 betting units) have lost three of Estrada's last five starts to fall 0.93 units in the red on a record of 10-8. The under is 12-6 this year with Estrada on the mound.
Collin McHugh (3.75 FIP) has pitched even better than Estrada, and the Astros (56-49, –5.54 units) have given him plenty of support at 5.10 runs per game, enough to generate 3.90 units of profit at 13-8 in his 21 starts. But this has still been a frustrating year for McHugh. Opposing batters have a combined .362 BABIP off McHugh this season, pushing his ERA all the way up to 4.75.
MLB Odds: Blue Jays-Astros at Minute Maid Park
After re-tooling their lineup at the trade deadline, the Toronto Blue Jays (59-47, –1.91 betting units) will face the Houston Astros (56-49, –5.54 units) Wednesday night in Game 3 of a four-game set at Minute Maid Park. First pitch is at 8:10 PM ET on Sportsnet.
Marco Estrada (3.98 FIP) will be on the mound for the Blue Jays, but SS Troy Tulowitzki (.774 OPS) may or may not be available after taking a pitch off the right thumb this past Sunday versus the Baltimore Orioles. Collin McHugh (3.75 FIP) is scheduled to start for Houston.
