These are two of the most recognized light heavyweights in MMA, although both are well past their prime. Ortiz (18-12-1 lifetime) is 41 years old, turning 42 on Saturday, and he was 1-6 in his last seven UFC fights before making the leap to Bellator. He’s 2-1 since, but hasn’t fought since September 2015, when he suffered a first-round title loss to Liam McGeary (–600) via inverted triangle choke.
Sonnen (29-14-1 lifetime) has been out of action even longer. It’s been over three years since he was knocked out by Rashad Evans (–200) in the first round at UFC 167. But Sonnen will be the younger fighter in this match at age 39, and he was beating quality opponents like Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (–150) as recently as 2013.
MMA Odds: Sonnen vs. Ortiz at Bellator 170
