MMA : Chael Sonnen vs. Tito Ortiz

The Bellator promotion is bringing out the big guns this Saturday at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz will meet in the main event of Bellator 170; SpikeTV will be there live, starting with the preliminaries at 7 PM ET and the main card at 9 PM. Sonnen is the –175 favorite at press time.

These are two of the most recognized light heavyweights in MMA, although both are well past their prime. Ortiz (18-12-1 lifetime) is 41 years old, turning 42 on Saturday, and he was 1-6 in his last seven UFC fights before making the leap to Bellator. He’s 2-1 since, but hasn’t fought since September 2015, when he suffered a first-round title loss to Liam McGeary (–600) via inverted triangle choke.

Sonnen (29-14-1 lifetime) has been out of action even longer. It’s been over three years since he was knocked out by Rashad Evans (–200) in the first round at UFC 167. But Sonnen will be the younger fighter in this match at age 39, and he was beating quality opponents like Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (–150) as recently as 2013.
