NBA Odds: Lakers Visit Streaking Rockets in Houston

Is there any stopping the Houston Rockets (24-4 SU, 15-12-1 ATS)? They’ve won 13 straight games at 7-5-1 ATS since Chris Paul made his return to the lineup, and the Rockets have another winnable game coming up Wednesday night against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers (10-17 SU, 13-14 ATS), tipping off at 8 PM ET on NBA-TV.

Paul and the Rockets have already defeated Los Angeles once during this hot streak. Back at Staples Center on December 3, Paul (21 points and six assists) was one of three Houston players to top the 20-point mark as they beat the Lakers 118-95, easily covering the 12.5-point spread. James Harden led all scorers with 36 points, while reigning Sixth Man of the Year Eric Gordon contributed 22 points off the bench.

The Lakers were close to full strength for that game, but they’ll be missing one of their key starters for the rematch. SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope isn’t allowed to leave the state of California because of a legal matter; the 3-and-D specialist has been one of LA’s better players this year, and he scored 16 points in the first game against Houston, connecting on four of his seven 3-point attempts.

NBA Odds: No KCP for Lakers in Houston

A tough rebuilding year for the Los Angeles Lakers (10-17 SU, 13-14 ATS) is about to get a lot tougher. The Lakers will visit the Houston Rockets (24-4 SU, 15-12-1 ATS) on Wednesday, beginning at 8 PM ET on NBA-TV, and they’ll be without one of their most important players.

SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope won’t be in Houston this week; the 3-and-D stalwart isn’t allowed to leave the state of California for 25 days after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor offense. Even with Caldwell-Pope in the lineup, LA lost 118-95 to the Rockets earlier this month as 12.5-point home dogs.
